What Is a Probate Bridge Loan?

A probate bridge loan is a short-term personal loan made directly to an heir or beneficiary who is waiting on estate funds to be released. It is not a loan to the estate — it is a loan to you personally, secured by an assignment of your expected estate distribution.

Common uses include covering ongoing attorney fees, estate expenses, or other costs while the estate is pending court action or awaiting a settlement.

How the Process Works

1. Submit Your Application

Complete the online application and upload a copy of your driver's license or state ID.

2. We Review Your File

We review your application within 1–2 business days. If approved, we present you with a personalized loan offer showing the amount, interest rate, and term.

3. Sign & Receive Funds

You review and accept your offer electronically. Once documents are signed, funds are wired to your account — typically within one business day.

What You Will Need

  • A copy of your driver's license or state-issued photo ID
  • A description of the estate situation and why funds are delayed

Important Disclosures

  • Not a guarantee of funding. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. All loans are subject to underwriting review.
  • Personal liability. This is a personal loan. You are personally responsible for repayment regardless of what happens with the estate.
  • Not legal advice. Probate Funding is a private lending company, not a law firm. Nothing on this site or in our loan documents constitutes legal advice. You should consult your attorney before taking on any loan obligation.
  • Loans may not be available in all states. Contact us before applying if you are unsure whether we lend in your state.
